Pattaya - close to Bangkok, closer to Sin City

 ... so you have decided to go to Pattaya - well good luck... I will try to explain everything about this place, as always there are pros and cons, for coming here, and you should be really aware who should and who should not come here.  First of all - Pattaya is an interesting place, and very very famous all around the world - you would be able to see more foreign people then locals. It is being invaded by so many nationalities that it is not Thai City anymore - you can find people from Europe, Australia, America (both Americas), Japan, Korea, China, India... not sure about Africa. I have not seen a place in Thailand were i would be able to see so many Japaneese turists and India men... yes men - you will not see many indian women - this is a town mostly for men. 90% of the turists are males. i will explain why in a moment (but most probably you already know). I want to focus on positive aspects: 1. City is close to Bangkok - so even if you have just a weekend you are good to...

We have arrived! ... but it is not over...

 Firt Visit - Planning We have arived from Helsinki late in the evening and the plan was to just change the airport and fly further to Chiang Mai. This was the plan - and as always there is a difference between plan and reality. Especially since the second internal flight was from Don Mueang, not from Suvarnabhumi If you ever plan to go to Bangkok - you need to understand/realize the distance (not only from KM/Miles perspective) mostly from the perspective of time it takes to get to the other airport (places_ (does not matter which one is your start airport and which one is designation).  I was lucky again - as my colleagues from company told me that it is at least an hour+ to change the airport - when in fact it was more.  Right after we bought tickets (8) we received the communication that the flight would be postponed and we would be having hard times to catch connection North. Ariving in Bangkok - Two Airports

Remember that in Bangkok - there are two airports: 1.  Suvarnabhumi Airport - Main Airport - where all the international flights are landing. No matter if you are coming from Europe, Americas, Africa, Australia - you will land here! A huge airport - very busy, and overcrowded most of the time. Still pretty well organized and easy to find means of transport to the other airport or to City Center! I've not seen any hastle at the airport or close to it.  2. Don Mueang Airport - Internal airport - where most of the flights are ariving from within Thailand, but also from nearby countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos.  Connection between the airports: Taxis and Grab/Bolt are all easily accessible on a level 1 of the airport - there are signs, and Grab has even a waiting room - might be needed - as the weather and humidity can be difficult to bear - especially if you have just landed from cold Finland (see the other topic) 1. Welcome to Bangkok - my Gateway to Asia

 The Bangkok has many names, some official, some unofficials - some that are being used only by externals. Some people are calling it a Gateway to Asia - and this is my favourite name.   Most of the times when you want to visit South-East Asia you will reach Bangkok - the most well known city in this part of the world. (And yes it is also about the "Hangover 3" movie). My first visit to Bangkok was very intense - i was planning it at least a year prior to the flight. And i was sure i've got it all secured. I haven't. Especially that my first visit was less then 24 hours - as we were flying to the North part of Thailand. We have landed on the international airport called by name which is close to impossible to pronounce - Suvarnabhumi, altough once you speak it out loud for few dozens times you might get close.
